The Pueblo West Cyclones's three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They strolled past Sand Creek with points to spare, taking the game 55-41. That's another feather in the cap for Pueblo West, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pueblo West to victory, but perhaps none more so than Malachi Stump, who scored 16 points along with three steals. Stump continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Campos, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Sand Creek still got an impressive performance from Josh Kotto, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kotto has scored all season. Wuol Chak was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Pueblo West's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Sand Creek, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Pueblo West's road trip will continue as they head out to face Elizabeth at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Hopefully Elizabeth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Saturday. As for Sand Creek, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Vista Ridge at 7:00 p.m.
