Softball Recap: Labrae Wins Going Away Against Poland Seminary

After only two runs in their last game, LaBrae made sure to put some runs up on the board against Poland Seminary on Monday. The Vikings put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 11-4 win. Considering the Vikings have won ten matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Riley Rowe made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.

In other batting news, Leah DeArmitt was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Shelby Bragg was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

LaBrae kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 15-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

LaBrae's record is now 19-5. As for Poland Seminary, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. LaBrae will welcome Jefferson Area at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Poland Seminary, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Lakeview at 5:00 p.m.
