The biggest upset of the week belonged to River Ridge, who took down 149th ranked Cass, 35-14.
Pickens's Shannon Brooks recorded the longest rushing play in AAAA Region 7A this season in his game against Gilmer last week. Brooks scampered for 65 yards on the play and finished with 95 on the day as his team lost to the Bobcats.
Pickens' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Dragons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Tanner Brumby has thrown for 943 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Brooks has 30 catches for 381 yards. Brooks leads the league in rushing with 704 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Knights take on Gilmer. As it stands, River Ridge is in fifth, while the Bobcats are in first.
Barry Lakes' team moved up to 231 from 277 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AAAA Region 7A. The Knights were able to make move up by besting the Colonels 35-14.
