Basketball Recap: Make It Ten in a Row for Manley

Manley had won nine straight games and Jaklaya Hunter did her part to make it ten on Wednesday. The Manley Wildcats blew past the Kelvyn Park Panthers 58-12 thanks in part to Hunter, who dropped a double-double on 50 points and 18 steals. The match was her 11th in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Ja Von Willis, who posted eight points in addition to 15 rebounds and six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played.

Manley's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 15.5 points per game. As for Kelvyn Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Manley will square off against Alcott at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Kelvyn Park, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Kelvyn Park Panthers face off against the Austin College and Career Academy Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Kelvyn Park's defense has only allowed 21.8 points per game this season, so Austin College and Career Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
