The North Polars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 54-53 to Tartan. North was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Tartan apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Tartan got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Anya Murphy out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Murphy has scored all season. Annabel Ngue was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds.
North's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Tartan, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-13.
North will take on Mahtomedi at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mahtomedi knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten contests -- so hopefully North likes a good challenge. As for Tartan, they will head out on the road to take on Hastings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
