Lago Vista relied on the efforts of Henry Sisemore, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 15 points, and Porter Herrod, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Sisemore has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Koen Blakely was another key player, putting up nine points.
Lago Vista smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Live Oak Classical entered their tilt with Bishop Reicher Catholic on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They breezed by the Cougars to the tune of 72-38. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while the Cougars are ranked 1416th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lago Vista better focus on containing Wes Snowden and Tristan Wilson as the pair were huge in Live Oak Classical's win. Snowden posted 11 points and eight rebounds, while Wilson went 8 of 16 on his way to 17 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ames Bruster, who had eight points.
Lago Vista pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Live Oak Classical, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Lago Vista and Live Oak Classical are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Lago Vista hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 55.3 points per game. However, it's not like Live Oak Classical struggles in that department as they've been averaging 63.8 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
