After losing to the Norwood Indians the last time they met, the Roger Bacon Spartans decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Roger Bacon snuck past Norwood with a 52-46 victory on Saturday. The win was all the more spectacular given Roger Bacon's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 376th, while Norwood is ranked 143rd).
Roger Bacon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Leah Fulton led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Fulton has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Morgan Rohling, who scored 21 points.
Roger Bacon pushed their record up to 5-8 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Norwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-3.
Roger Bacon will head out on the road to face off against Newport Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Newport Central Catholic will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Norwood, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Indian Hill at 7:30 p.m.
