The Central Cobras will head out on the road to face off against the Jensen Beach Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday.
Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak. They fell 59-52 to Centennial.
Despite the loss, Central had strong showings from HARMON RANDOLPH, who scored 20 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals, and AQUNAIS WEST, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. The game was RANDOLPH's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was CHAU DAVIS, who scored 8 points along with 3 steals.
Even though they lost, Central were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Centennial only pulled down 13.
Jensen Beach has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 28 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 47-19 win over Okeechobee on the road. The victory was familiar territory for Jensen Beach who now have three in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jensen Beach to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ella Udzinski, who scored 9 points. Udzinski continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Abby Fitzwater was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 10 rebounds.
Central's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Jensen Beach, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Central hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 59 points per game. It's a different story for Jensen Beach, though, as they've been averaging only 45.3 per game. The only thing between Central and another offensive beatdown is Jensen Beach. Central beat Jensen Beach 36-24 in their previous meeting back in January of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
