Greater Latrobe came tearing into Saturday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past the Shenandoah Raiders with a 56-50 victory. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 48th in Pennsylvania, while the Raiders are ranked 126th in Indiana), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Shenandoah lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Zane Mitchell, who posted 12 points in addition to six assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Aiden Coffey, who put up 15 points.

Greater Latrobe's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Shenandoah, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.

Greater Latrobe wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-50 victory against Penn-Trafford on the 29th. As for Shenandoah, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Madison-Grant at 7:30 p.m. on January 7th. Shenandoah is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.2 points per game this season.
