The Motivation Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 69-54 fall against TECH Freire Charter. While losing is never fun, Motivation can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 491st, while TECH Freire Charter is ranked 203rd).
Despite the defeat, Motivation saw an underclassman step up: Chace White scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points White has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Amare Gadson, who scored ten points.
TECH Freire Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zymear Hashim, who scored 18 points. Omar Leach was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Motivation's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-5. As for TECH Freire Charter, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Motivation will take on Philadelphia Military Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Philadelphia Military Academy is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. TECH Freire Charter won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Franklin Learning Center at 3:15 p.m. on January 12th.
