Ryder Norton Delivers Best Performance of Season
Northwest was led to victory by Ryder Norton, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Thursday. Norton rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards.
The win for Northwest keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Norton and Northwest will head out on the road to take on Keller Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Davis Penn Turns in Season-Best Performance
On Friday, Southlake Carroll got the W thanks in part to Davis Penn playing the best football he has all season. Penn rushed for 136 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in December of 2023.
If the past is any indication, Penn could be in store for another big game when he takes on V.R. Eaton on Thursday. Penn rushed for 128 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries the last time he and the Eagles duked it out back in October of 2023.

Angelo Renda Goes Supernova in Southlake Carroll Win
Angelo Renda was instrumental in extending Southlake Carroll's winning streak to six on Friday. Renda turned in nothing short of a gem, throwing for 245 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.2% of his passes.
For the season, Renda has thrown 17 touchdowns while averaging 243.3 passing yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after six games last season, he was only averaging 32.28 passer rating per game. This year he is averaging 137.43 passer rating.

Southlake Carroll Gets a Boost from Boyd in 52-21 Victory
Southlake Carroll picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Brock Boyd. Nobody could stop Boyd as he picked up 148 receiving yards and two touchdowns. His receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 135 receiving yards dating back to last season.
For the year, Boyd has caught 9 touchdowns while averaging 115.7 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he had three receiving touchdowns.

Nathanial Jean Makes It Two for Northwest
The second Northwest player making an appearance here is Nathanial Jean, and for good reason. He rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns.
For the season, Jean has run in 7 touchdowns while averaging 88.4 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after five games last season, he had four rushing touchdowns.
