Strayhorn fell to Mantachie 41-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Byers led 2A Region 2 in scoring this week by notching 34 points on Byers.
The Lions' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Anthony Rubin threw for 140 and 2 touchdowns and Montavious Reynolds had 100 yards receiving. On the ground Marquis Moore chipped in 237 yards. Courtney Bean helped Byers' passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 28 yards.
Moore provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Byers lost to East Union. Moore's favorite target this week was Reynolds, who caught 4 passes for 100 yards.
Moore was a beast in the backfield as Christopher Daniels' team lost to the Urchins.
Moore was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 237 yards on 26 carries as the Lions lost to East Union. Rubin also contributed to the rushing game with 62 yards on the ground.
Byers' Rubin and Reynolds have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Rubin has thrown for 1,107 yards this season, while Reynolds has 23 catches for 473 yards. Trendarius Anderson from West Tallahatchie leads the league in rushing with 1,959 yards.
The Lions lost in the closest game of the week to 35-34 Scott Duley's team. Rubin ran for 62 yards in the defeat.
