Ponaganset is 1-0 against Mt. Hope since October of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Friday. The Ponaganset Chieftains will be playing at home against the Mt. Hope Huskies at 6:30  p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Ponaganset has three straight  wins, Mt. Hope has six straight  losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
 Last Saturday, Ponaganset was fully in charge, breezing past Narragansett 49-14 on the road. The result was nothing new for Ponaganset, who have now won three games by 27  points or more  so far this season.
  Jason Pincince was a one-man wrecking crew for Ponaganset as he rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per carry, and also picked up 58 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was  Robert Grenga, who threw for 139 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes.
 Meanwhile, Mt. Hope took a serious blow against Moses Brown on Friday, falling  34-7. Mt. Hope was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
 Ponaganset's victory on Saturday  bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Mt. Hope, their loss was  their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-6.
 Everything came up roses for Ponaganset against Mt. Hope when the teams last played  back in October of 2022 as the  team secured a  35-6 victory. Does  Ponaganset have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mt. Hope turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
