Basketball Recap: Lexington Extends Winning Streak to Six

Lexington had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Salisbury Hornets with a sharp 55-31 victory. The Yellowjackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Lexington's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makayla Bobo, who went 6-for-9 on her way to 16 points and eight rebounds. Lily Ervin was another key player, putting up 11 points along with six boards and three blocks.

Lexington pushed their record up to 20-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points over those games. As for Salisbury, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.

As of now, neither Lexington nor Salisbury have any future games scheduled.
