Notre Dame Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the St. John's Prep Red Storm at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Notre Dame Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, the stars were shining brightly for Notre Dame Academy in a 62-46 victory over Maria Regina.
Notre Dame Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sabrina Kraker, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. The game was Kraker's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Caitlin Sweeney, who scored 17 points.
St. John's Prep can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game two weeks ago. They snuck past Holy Cross with a 53-47 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given St. John's Prep's disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while Holy Cross is ranked 99th).
Notre Dame Academy's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.2 points per game. St. John's Prep's record now sits at 1-2.
