In what's become a running theme this season, the Sacramento Dragons gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat El Camino 78-47 on the road. Winning may never get old, but Sacramento sure is getting used to it with their 12th in a row.
Leading Sacramento to victory were Kendahl Hearne and Sir Marius Jones. Hearne dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 assists, while Jones scored 40 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Hearne posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Damarion Taylor, who scored three points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the loss, El Camino had strong showings from Justin Watts, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, and Demetrious Perry, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. Gavin Bennett was another key contributor, scoring five points.
El Camino struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Sacramento racked up 25 assists.
Sacramento has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. As for El Camino, they dropped their record down to 6-15 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sacramento will take on Christian Brothers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Christian Brothers will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Sacramento is ranked 79th). As for El Camino, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Del Campo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
