If the C.A. Johnson Hornets were feeling good off their 50-18 takedown of the Columbia Capitals on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The New Year welcomed C.A. Johnson with a 52-8 whooping from Eau Claire on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points C.A. Johnson has scored all season.
Leading Eau Claire to victory were Milaysha Chisholm and Destinee Tiller. Chisholm dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Tiller dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Tiller has scored at least 25% of Eau Claire's points. Another player making a difference was Quindia Nelson, who scored six points.
C.A. Johnson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Eau Claire, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. C.A. Johnson will challenge Lewisville at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lewisville's defense has only allowed 21.7 points per game this season, so C.A. Johnson's offense will have their work cut out for C.A. Johnson. Eau Claire won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Ben Lippen at 1:00 p.m. on January 6th.
