Meanwhile, King City started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Soledad. They fell 15-10 to the Aztecs on Tuesday.
Amity Hearne and Avery Munoz did some serious damage despite the final result: Hearne went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one run, while Munoz went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Romero, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
King City's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-9. As for Rancho San Juan, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rancho San Juan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .423. However, it's not like King City struggles in that department as they've averaged .323. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
