The Decatur Golden Gators's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They fell 59-48 to Kentridge. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Decatur of the 61-47 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Sophie Solomon was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Kalia Washington was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Decatur's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6. As for Kentridge, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Decatur will face off against Kentwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kentwood will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Kentridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Kennedy Catholic at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
