The Nash Central Bulldogs lost against the Bunn Wildcats back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Nash Central fell 48-36 to Bunn. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Nash Central has scored all season.
Nash Central lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Stephen Howard, who scored 14 points along with three steals. That was a full 38.9% of Nash Central's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Markell Jasper, who scored eight points.
Domantea Cooke was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with six rebounds for Bunn. Jordan Jackson was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Nash Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Bunn, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nash Central will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against SouthWest Edgecombe at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. SouthWest Edgecombe will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Bunn, they will head out on the road to face off against Roanoke Rapids at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Roanoke Rapids focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Friday.
