Maroa-Forsyth has gone 7-1 against Argenta-Oreana recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bombers at 4:30 p.m. Maroa-Forsyth is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Maroa-Forsyth nor Williamsville made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Trojans lost 8-1 to the Bullets. The contest marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Danni Hovey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and five unearned) runs on ten hits.
On the hitting side, Maroa-Forsyth saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maggie Ravenscraft, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Argenta-Oreana had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They blew past the Pirates 11-3. The Bombers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by eight runs or more this season.
Argenta-Oreana also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Elyssa Armstrong gave up three earned runs on 12 hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gracie Manning, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emmy Reynolds, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Argenta-Oreana pushed their record up to 9-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Maroa-Forsyth, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Maroa-Forsyth hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. However, it's not like Argenta-Oreana struggles in that department as they've averaged .313. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Maroa-Forsyth might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Argenta-Oreana when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Trojans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
