After three games on the road, Provo is heading back home. They will take on the Timpview Thunderbirds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Provo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Provo ultimately got the result they hoped for. They managed a 53-47 win over Northridge.
It was another big night for Jason Carter, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Provo's points. Trey Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Timpview fought the good fight in their overtime match against Layton on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 71-63 to the Lancers. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
The losses dropped Provo to 3-2 and Northridge to 0-5.
Provo lost to Timpview at home by a decisive 72-53 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Thankfully for Provo, James Rust (who scored 13 points along with 5 assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
