Walton is 0-10 against the Bulldogs since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Walton Warriors will look to defend their home court against the Delaware Academy Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Walton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 388th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 166th).
Last Thursday, Walton had to suffer through a rough 45-18 loss at the hands of the Spartans. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Walton has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Walton saw an underclassman step up: Grace Walley scored five points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Walley hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games.
Meanwhile, Delaware Academy didn't have too much trouble with the at home on Monday as they won 61-43. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Delaware Academy.
Walton has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Delaware Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Walton took a serious blow against the Bulldogs when the teams last played on Saturday, falling 64-30. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Walton was down 41-15.
