Knightstown is 0-4 against Greenfield-Central since May of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Panthers will host the Cougars at 5:30 p.m. Knightstown is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Knightstown turned things around against Centerville on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 12-2 victory. Considering the Panthers have won four matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

B Johnson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Knightstown's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-5 when he doesn't). C Gorman was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Knightstown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Centerville only managed three.
New Palestine hit Greenfield-Central with a four-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars fell 6-2 to the Dragons.
Greenfield-Central also got a good showing from Hunter Robling, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Robling has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Greenfield-Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Kidd, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.
Knightstown's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Greenfield-Central, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
Greenfield-Central's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Knightstown hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. It's a different story for Greenfield-Central, though, as they've only averaged .257. Will they be able to contain Knightstown's hitters?
Knightstown came up short against Greenfield-Central in their previous matchup back in April of 2019, falling 10-5. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
