If the Southern Christian Patriots were riding high off their 53-23 takedown of the Grace Christian Crusader last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Southern Christian was outmatched by Wiregrass on the road and fell 67-30. Southern Christian lost against Wiregrass in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 100-99 score last time.
Wiregrass' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Miller, who scored 22 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Miller has scored at least 25% of Wiregrass' points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Treadaway , who scored 16 points.
Southern Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Wiregrass, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southern Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wiregrass at 7:00 p.m. on December 18th. Wiregrass won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Calvary Christian at 11:00 a.m. on December 9th. Calvary Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
