Wake Forest is 7-1 against Garner since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Cougars will host the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Wake Forest 3, Garner 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Wake Forest came out on top against Heritage last Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Cougars took their contest against the Huskies 7-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Trevor Friend tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Stephen Crater was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Aramis Perez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Garner had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They skirted past the Tigers 3-2.
Garner let Jacori Covington and Bennett Selvage run wild. Covington went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Selvage went 3-for-5 with one double and one RBI. Camden Walton was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run.
Garner's win bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Wake Forest, their victory bumped their record up to 18-4.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Wake Forest has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Garner struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Wake Forest came out on top in a nail-biter against Garner when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 4-3. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
