Wabeno/Laona is 9-1 against Crandon since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Wabeno/Laona Rebels will be playing in front of their home fans against the Crandon Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Wabeno/Laona comes in on four and Crandon on three.
Wabeno/Laona scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They snuck past Three Lakes with a 97-92 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Meanwhile, even though Goodman-Pembine scored an imposing 66 points on Tuesday, Crandon still came out on top. Crandon enjoyed a cozy 80-66 victory over Goodman-Pembine.
It was another big night for Jaxon Keepers, who went 7 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 40 points and 5 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Jahnke, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Wabeno/Laona has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. As for Crandon, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
Wabeno/Laona was able to grind out a solid win over Crandon when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 60-47. Does Wabeno/Laona have another victory up their sleeve, or will Crandon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
