Jones scored a shocking upset when it eliminated Tuttle, 21-19. At the time, the Tigers were ranked 23rd in the state, while the Longhorns were 88th.
Blanchard added to the longest winning streak in 3A District 1 this week by beating Mount St. Mary, 54-21. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Braden Stringer was a passing and rushing force as Blanchard defeated the Rockets. Stringer's favorite target this week was Kegan Lawson, who caught 3 passes for 77 yards.
Blake Owen and Stringer gave Jeff Craig's team a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Owen threw for 102 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Stringer ran for 201 yards. Owen also contributed to the rushing game with 64 yards on the ground.
