Basketball Game Preview: Marshall Academy Griffons vs. Battle Creek Academy Tigers

The Marshall Academy Griffons will face off against the Battle Creek Academy Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marshall Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.9 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Marshall Academy beat Jackson Preparatory & Early College 47-39.

Marshall Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Patterson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. Patterson has been hot recently, having posted ten or more boards the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Oscar Melendez, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine assists.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Battle Creek Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They secured a 27-21 W over Factoryville Christian on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Marshall Academy's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Battle Creek Academy, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6.

Marshall Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Battle Creek Academy when the teams last played on January 9th, winning 45-32. Will Marshall Academy repeat their success, or does Battle Creek Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
