The Foothill Cougars came tearing into Thursday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Fairfield with points to spare, taking the game 71-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Tyler Zanhiser, who scored 25 points along with five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for him. Asa Arnold was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Foothill's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Fairfield, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Foothill won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Las Lomas at 6:30 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully Las Lomas focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Thursday. Fairfield will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Foothill at 3:30 p.m. on December 15th. Foothill presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fairfield in California (Foothill is ranked 229th, while Fairfield is ranked 462nd).
