Elliot Beister was a one-man wrecking crew for Elkhorn as he rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Another player making a difference was Xander Ardley Jr., who rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown.
He was just one part of a punishing run game: Elkhorn was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 232 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gretna East only rushed for 89.
Waverly's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Elkhorn, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
