It was a good run, but the Harding Raiders unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of East by a score of 44-42. Harding lost against East in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 47-40 score last time.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Akeelha Barnes, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds. Nadia Mcqueen was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds.
Harding's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for East, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Harding will be playing at home against Cardinal Mooney at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cardinal Mooney is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for East, they will head out on the road to face off against Struthers at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Struthers will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 666th, while East is ranked 298th).
