The Peck Pirates fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Armada Tigers on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 75-73. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Thomas West, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. West is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games he's played. Cal Heiden was another key contributor, scoring 25 points along with six rebounds.
Peck has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Armada, their win bumped their record up to 3-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peck will stay at home for another game and welcome the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. All Saints Central will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Armada, they will be playing at home against the Muskrats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Algonac comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
