The Christ Covenant Spartan struggled with offensive rebounds on Tuesday (the Trinity Christian Tigers had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Christ Covenant was outmatched by Trinity Christian on the road and fell 61-33. Christ Covenant has not had much luck with Trinity Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Christ Covenant lost, one person who can't be blamed is JD Dill. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Dill is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Jakob Ange was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
It was another big night for Carter Jordan, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 rebounds for Trinity Christian. That makes it five consecutive games in which Jordan has scored at least a third of Trinity Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Brentley Lee, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Christ Covenant's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Trinity Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christ Covenant will square off against Jacksonville Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Jacksonville Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for Trinity Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Faith Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Faith Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Trinity Christian likes a good challenge.
