The Canyon Springs Cougars and the Highland Bulldogs squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but sadly the Canyon Springs Cougars had to settle for second. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 50-30 walloping at the hands of the Bulldogs. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Canyon Springs has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Canyon Springs saw an underclassman step up: Tyler Vann dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. Vann is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games he's played. Isaiah Wall was another key contributor, scoring four points along with two steals.
Canyon Springs' loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-11. As for Highland, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-14.
Canyon Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Highland, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-19 victory vs. Sierra Vista on the 9th.
