Softball Recap: Eagle Point Wins Going Away Against Ashland

Eagle Point never let their opponents score on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Ashland Grizzlies. The match marked the Eagles' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Brylee Leonardo tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Eagle Point got a massive performance out of Kady Ledbetter, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Haylee White also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Eagle Point was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Eagle Point and bumps their season record up to 4-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Ashland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Eagle Point beat the Grizzlies by a score of 13-4 later that day.
