Basketball Recap: Eden Piles Up the Points Against Christian Central Academy

Eden came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Christian Central Academy Crusaders 80-43. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 20 points or more this season.

Eden's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kobe Genco led the charge by dropping a triple-double on 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 14 assists. Those 14 assists gave Genco a new career-high. Tyler Wakelam was another key player, going 9 for 15 on his way to 26 points.

Genco wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Eden was working as a unit and finished the game with 28 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Eden pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.7 points per game. As for Christian Central Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Eden will host Tapestry at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Christian Central Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Riverside at 5:00 p.m. on January 21st.
