The Conrad Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Gateway Charter Academy on Friday as Conrad made off with a 76-56 victory. The victory was familiar territory for Conrad who now have four in a row.
Conrad got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brian Singleton out in front who scored 25 points. The contest was Singleton's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was DeAnthony Flagge, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Loss or not, Gateway Charter Academy got some senior leadership from Prince Rider who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds and Khing Williams who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten assists. That's the first time this season that Rider scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Terry Richardson, who scored ten points.
Even though they lost, Gateway Charter Academy were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Conrad only racked up 23 assists.
Conrad's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Gateway Charter Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Conrad will stay at home for another game and welcome North Dallas at 8:00 p.m. on December 12th. North Dallas has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Gateway Charter Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hillsboro at 7:15 p.m. on December 12th. Hopefully Hillsboro focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday.
