Carver kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 3-0 to the Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy Phoenix. The Yellowjackets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Phoenix from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-4, 25-16.
Aminata Mall paced Carver's offense, picking up six kills. Mall got some help from Mionnika Jackson and her three assists. Kathleen Estrada controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Carver will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Triad Math and Science Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy, they are taking a road trip to face off against Millennium at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
