The Vicksburg Gators will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ridgeland Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vicksburg will be strutting in after a win while Ridgeland will be coming in after a loss.
Vicksburg fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Columbus by a score of 36-24 on Friday.
Vicksburg's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was DeCorey Knight Jr, who picked up 102 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 98 yards on only ten carries. Another player making a difference was Malik Montgomery, who rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, Ridgeland fell victim to Neshoba Central's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 40-0 loss at the hands of the Rockets.
Vicksburg's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Ridgeland, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Vicksburg took their victory against Ridgeland when the teams last played back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 42-20. Will Vicksburg repeat their success, or does Ridgeland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
