Mission Heights Prep's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Maricopa Institute of Technology Iron Eagles 14-6. The result was nothing new for the Phantoms, who have now won four games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Mission Heights Prep let Shyenne Lopez and Hadley Feik run wild. Lopez scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Feik scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Lopez also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Kalei Stewart was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Mission Heights Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 2.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 10.4.

Mission Heights Prep has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Maricopa Institute of Technology, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Coincidentally, Mission Heights Prep and Maricopa Institute of Technology will both be playing Imagine Prep Coolidge the next time they take the field. The Iron Eagles will head out to face the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Phantoms will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
