When it comes to explaining why Liberty Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Shelby Carr. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 28 points and 25 rebounds. That was a full 73.7% of Liberty Christian Academy's points, marking the 14th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Hegenberger, who scored seven points.
Berne Union's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-13. As for Liberty Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Berne Union will take on Bishop Rosecrans at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Bishop Rosecrans focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Tuesday. Liberty Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Shekinah Christian at 5:00 p.m. on January 19th. Shekinah Christian is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
