Aquinas will be up against a hot Woodcrest Christian squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. The Royals came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against Redlands Adventist Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Royals have posted since March 1st.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Woodcrest Christian got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 18-25, 25-17, 26-28, 15-9.
Meanwhile, Aquinas hadn't done well against Loma Linda Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Falcons narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Roadrunners 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Aquinas got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the fourth set. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-12, 25-17, 36-38, 15-11.
Aquinas has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season. As for Woodcrest Christian, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3.
