The Monroe-Woodbury Crusaders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Pine Bush 94-43 on the road. The victory was just business as usual for Monroe-Woodbury, who after nine games remain undefeated this season.
Leading Monroe-Woodbury to victory were Jankarlos Mendoza and Christopher Pearson. Mendoza scored 20 points along with six rebounds, while Pearson scored 26 points along with three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Pearson has scored at least 25% of Monroe-Woodbury's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadon Carnegie, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Monroe-Woodbury pushed their record up to 9-0 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Pine Bush, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Monroe-Woodbury will look to defend their home court on Monday against Newburgh Free Academy at 6:30 p.m. Newburgh Free Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 199th, while Monroe-Woodbury is ranked tenth). As for Pine Bush, they will head out on the road to face off against Beacon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
