Kermit gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They blew past the Pecos Eagles 62-34. The Yellow Jackets not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since December 10, 2024 (when they won 80-32).
Kermit found their leader in freshman Keaton Thomas, who posted 15 points. Cruz Sanchez was another key player, putting up seven points and four blocks.
Kermit was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pecos only posted seven.
Despite the loss, Pecos still got an impressive performance from Ruben Tagle, who put up seven points and five rebounds.
Coming up, Kermit will welcome Monahans at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pecos, they will venture away from home to take on Van Horn at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
