If the Everett Seagulls were feeling good off their 77-55 takedown of the Snohomish Panthers on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Everett was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 51-50 to Cedarcrest. Everett was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cedarcrest apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Everett lost, one person who can't be blamed is Isaiah White. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was White's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Bloomfield, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Even though they lost, Everett were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Everett's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Cedarcrest, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Everett will square off against Kamiak at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Washington (Kamiak is ranked 151st, while Everett is ranked 159th). As for Cedarcrest, they will head out on the road to face off against Shorewood at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Shorewood's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
