Meanwhile, Charleston Catholic lost to St. Albans on the road by a decisive 48-30 margin on Monday. Charleston Catholic has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Charleston Catholic saw an underclassman step up: Mary Rushworth scored 11 points along with four steals and two blocks. That was a full 36.7% of Charleston Catholic's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Poca has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Charleston Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Poca have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Charleston Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.7 rebounds per game.
