Choate Rosemary Hall suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after besting Phillips Academy. The Wild Boars had been ranked ninth, but fell to 29 following the defeat.
The Big Blues moved up to 60 from 241 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in NEPSAC Freelance. Phillips Academy climbed the ranks as a result of a 53-7 win over Phillips Academy.
Leon Modeste's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Joey Verhaegh threw for 87 and one touchdown and Nathan Scyocurka had 28 yards receiving. On the ground Mike DeLaus chipped in 30 yards. Jake Howell helped Phillips Academy's passing attack out by catching two balls for 18 yards.
Emmanuel Williams has thrown for 435 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Durelle Napier has four catches for 122 yards. Luvin De Leon leads the league in rushing with 200 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Deerfield Academy takes on Loomis Chaffee. As it stands, the Big Green are in fifth, while Loomis Chaffee is in third.
Choate Rosemary Hall led NEPSAC Freelance in scoring this week after putting up 53 points on the Big Blues.
