McNeil and Stony Point are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The McNeil Mavericks will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Stony Point Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th. McNeil will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 740th, while Stony Point is ranked 166th).
Last Saturday, McNeil beat China Spring 39-28.
Meanwhile, Stony Point didn't have too much trouble with Hutto on the road on Friday as they won 50-34.
Among those leading the charge was Leann Bellow, who scored 19 points along with 7 steals and 3 blocks. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alexia Vega, who scored 8 points.
Krum's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while McNeil's loss dropped theirs to 4-8.
McNeil came up short against Stony Point in their previous matchup back in January, falling 46-36. Can McNeil avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
