The biggest upset of the week belonged to Penns Manor, who took down 129th ranked Ligonier Valley, 20-11. Danny Ferens threw for 67 yards and one touchdown and ran for 83 yards in the win.
The Comets moved up to 228 from 304 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Heritage. Penns Manor climbed the ranks as a result of topping the Rams 20-11.
Deion Robinson was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 21 carries, he ran for 193 yards as Blairsville topped Ligonier Valley. Scott Thompson also contributed to the rushing game with 32 yards on the ground.
Bytner was the best wideout in the league this week as the Comets bested Roger Beitel's team. Bytner racked up one reception for 64 yards. Corey Brown helped Penns Manor's passing attack out by catching one ball for three yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Thompson of the Bobcats is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1156. He has also thrown seven touchdowns. On the ground, Penns Manor's Ferens has rushed for 1185 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Adam Polites. The Northern Cambria star has 12 catches for 324 yards.
The Rams' Ryan Torrance needs only 83 yards against Homer-Center next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 101 carries Torrance has accumulated 917 yard this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Ligonier Valley takes on the Wildcats. The Rams are currently in second, while Homer-Center is in third.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Ligonier Valley takes on Greg Page's team. The Rams have allowed 53 points this season, while the Wildcats have given up 76. Ligonier Valley allowed 20 points last week as it lost to the Comets.
Penns Manor extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Rams, 20-11. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Comets.
